The History of Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy developed from osteopathic medicine in the 1970s through the work of osteopathic physician Dr. John Upledger.

Craniosacral Therapy focuses on supporting the autonomic nervous system, which regulates many of the body's automatic functions. The autonomic nervous system has two main branches: the sympathetic nervous system ("fight or flight") and the parasympathetic nervous system ("rest and restore").

Craniosacral Therapy encourages activation of the parasympathetic response, helping the body move into a calmer, more restorative state where healing and repair can take place more effectively.
